Portugal’s largest wine region has welcomed another water storage tank. The north of Portugal is the largest wine region of the country, with more hectares of vines than anywhere else in country, producing a variety of unique grapes and wines.
This 217 m3 tank was installed for storing irrigation water for 6 ha of vineyard. It has a height of 2,29 meters and a diameter of 10,97 meters.
Water is and will always be crucial in grape growing. Even though this wine area in the north of Portugal might be relatively wet, it is important to forecast ahead to ensure water supply will meet the irrigation needs, especially in a drier year. Our water tanks help to meet this demand and can help to collect (rain) water for drier periods.
